Shailesh K. Gohel, MD, FAAP





Dr. Shailesh K. Gohel is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics with over 20 years of experience.


Education: Dr. Gohel completed his residency in Pediatrics at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ (affiliated with CHOP.)


Hospital Privileges: Dr. Gohel has privileges at Sentara Northern Virginia Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital.


Medical Interests: Dr. Gohel's keen interests include reducing childhood obesity, asthma control and psychological health. He is a strong advocate for education and thus always maintains his Continuing Medical Education credits on an ongoing basis. As a preceptor for the VCU School of Nursing, VCOM School for Future Osteopathic Physicians and other medical and nursing schools in the region, he shares his knowledge, passion and drive of the pediatric field. He is also a Student Mentor for our patients who would like to learn more about pediatrics.


In his spare time, Dr. Gohel enjoys reading, badminton and playing the piano. He resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, son and daughter. As a pediatrician and father, Dr. Gohel believes that top quality care is to be given at all times, something he strives for in every visit.
